I don't know what it's been like climate-wise where you are, but our winter has been a rather depressing one. It came early, offered little respite and seems to be sleeping on the couch daring us to evict it. Perhaps this is the reason that I've had a music bug lately for this Robbie Robertson song -
I admit that I'm not the biggest fan of The Band and I have a sneaking suspicion that I like every song that Tony Levin has played bass on, but this particular song (not by The Band but by Robbie Robertson on his first solo recording - coincidentally named Robbie Robertson) is a fantastic example of mood and feeling. I've never been to Arkansas, nor to any of the "Southern" states, but I have been in the "state" this song evokes. It's the definition of lazy and hot.
Special note also goes to Sam Llanas for his awesome backing vocals!
